Tuesday Teatime: What are you learning?

Hi everybody! In honor of the upcoming school year, today I'm reflecting on what I've been learning lately and wondering what you've been learning.

  1. I learned how to put gas in my lawn mower this morning! :-D It also seems that this past week I've learned so many new skills at work. You have such a good attitude about Midwestern people! I've been having so much trouble being positive about it. I guess I miss living in the South too much. Haha!

    1. I'm glad I'm not the only one learning practical things! Isn't it kind of empowering to learn more about the machines and gadgets we use every day?

I think it's tough getting used to a new environment. I'm sure the transition from the South to the Midwest is pretty similar to the transition from New England to the Midwest!! We can get through it together haha. :)

  2. I loved your view of Midwestern people! Its funny how all the different region of the US have their own characteristics. My dad is from New England, like yourself, and when he got a job in Dallas, TX, he was shocked at how friendly they were compared to New York-ers. I would say that the Midwest overall is friendly (since I live there) but I would agree with Gabriela--its nothing like the South!
I took summer classes this year for College Algebra and Intro to Computers, so I learned how to use Microsoft Excel and a bunch of new skills in Word, but I don't get to use them that often since I'm a Mac user. :) I've also learned how to make homemade guacamole, which I'm pretty happy about!
I'm so glad you're still making Teatime videos! :)

  3. Hi Libby!
We were just in Wisconsin last weekend picking up my eldest son from summer camp! We took an extra day and paid a visit to the Shrine of Our Lady of Good Help, near Green Bay. It has a beautiful story and history, and is the only Church approved apparition site in the States, if I remember correctly. Here is the link, if you are interested in learning more about it:

I would love to go back again someday!

Yay for mid-westerners! ~I am a born and bred Hoosier-girl, myself! I think we must fall somewhere in between the east-coasters and southerners when it comes to the friendly factor. Glad you had a good experience! And welcome to the neighborhood! :)

And FINALLY on to your question.;) I started voice lessons a few weeks back (our piano teacher teaches voice as well), and I am amazed at how much I have learned in just two lessons! It is fascinating!!! Especially the breathing techniques!

So, there you are! Better late than never right? May God bless you, and happy Feast of the Assumption!!!!!

    ~Kate
